The Covid - 19 pandemic is a completely unusual time for all of us. It has triggered a multifaceted crisis that has gone beyond health, economic, or socio-political and its implications must be considered multidimensionally. It is now obvious to everyone that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected and will continue to affect virtually all sectors of the Polish economy for an extended period of time. In recent months, we have heard about the collapse of large corporations or about markets that, as a result of the pandemic, recorded losses of billions during the lockdown. Not so often, however, do we talk about the industries that not only emerged unscathed, but even gained during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has shown both market participants, policy makers and the general public that natural disasters can have a direct global, destructive economic impact on an unprecedented scale. Therefore, assessing the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is very important from the perspective of governments, businesses, as well as households.
During the debate the results of two competitions aimed at high school students will be announced, which are organized by the Academy of Applied Sciences in Radom. The first of them is a competition for the best presentation entitled. "Threats and social consequences of the pandemic"., while the second one - entitled. "Economic consequences of the outbreak of pandemic COVID - 19". The idea of the first competition is to indicate both the risks and social consequences of the introduced isolation in connection with the outbreak of coronavirus. The idea of the second competition is to indicate the consequences of the pandemic for the economy at the macro level, as well as the micro level, including those relating to adaptation of businesses and households to changes in the post-pandemic economy.
