Professionalism in the accounting industry - debate report

On the 3rd of March 2021 via TEAMS PLATFORM the following debate was organized expert debate entitled. "Professionalism of the accounting industry in the era of economy based on knowledge-based economy". The event was organized by the School of Economics, Faculty of Law and Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences, Academic Accounting Office of Radom School of Economics School of Commerce in Radom and the Students' Forum of the Business Centre Club. Chairwoman of of the Expert Debate Organizing Committee was Ewelina Markowska, Ph. D. Ewelina Markowska - scientific and didactic worker of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the D., coordinator of the Academic Accounting Office operating at the Faculty of Law and School of Law and Administration in Radom.

 They delivered their papers in the debate:

- dr Katarzyna Kalinowska - Deputy Vice President of the City of Radom. The speech of the President was related to the The President's speech concerned the situation on the labour market in the era of COVID - 19, indicating its requirements after the end of the pandemic.

- Anna Słopiecka, MA, lecturer at the Higher School of Economics in Radom, specialist in image creation and brand promotion brand. Owner of Noble Brand Creative Agency. Speech topic: "Brand personal brand. How to effectively and professionally present yourself and your CV on the job market?"

- Prof. Dr. Piotr Możyłowski, WSH, Lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Radom School of Economics, PM Konsulting Doradztwo Gospodarcze i Prawne, Accounting Office. Topic topic of the speech: "Still an accountant or already an advisor? Where is the thin line between line between these two professions?"

- mgr Marcin Kobylski, Judge of the District Court in Radom, lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Higher Commercial College in Radom. Speech topic: "Violation of obligations under the Accounting Act and criminal and penal-fiscal liability as well as crimes against credibility of documents crimes against credibility of documents."

- Prof. Dariusz Kotłowski, Ph, lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Radom School of Economics, Law Office of Dr. Dariusz Erwin Kotłowski. The topic of the speech: "Liability for unreliability of books vs. fraud".

- mgr Paweł Kruczyk, Internal Auditor Polish Institute of Internal Control, second degree in Internal Control and Audit. Speech topic: "How to run a reputable accounting office after the 2014 deregulation of professions?"

The topics of the debate concerned the issues related to the essence of changes occurring in the modern economy and accounting industry and emerging challenges, in particular challenges connected with the widely understood digitalization of this industry.

The debate also included Two competitions aimed at high school students were held during the debate.

The first competition is a competition for the best study entitled. "Professionalism of the accounting industry in the era of knowledge-based economy", while the second one - entitled "The idea of professionalism in the accounting industry in the era of knowledge-based economy". "Idea for for Own Business". The purpose of the first competition was primarily to illuminate the essence of the process of revolutionising the work of accountants by new technologies - both in Poland and worldwide. Its aim was also stimulate initiative to prepare and popularize dilemmas concerning accounting industry. The goal of the second competition was to promote entrepreneurship and promotion of entrepreneurial attitudes among high high school students.
